UK Gold Panning Maps

1. Is this suitable for complete beginners?

Yes. This pack is specifically designed for people who are completely new to gold panning in the UK. The guide explains everything step by step, from what UK gold actually looks like to how to read rivers and start panning safely and realistically.

2. Does this map guarantee I will find gold?

No. Gold panning always involves skill, conditions, and persistence. The maps show areas where gold is known or geologically likely to occur, but gold is a natural resource and results can never be guaranteed.

3. Are the locations exact digging spots?

No. Each polygon represents a prospecting river or stream section, not a precise target. The descriptions explain why the location exists and how to approach similar features nearby using the same principles.

4. Are the locations legal to pan?

The guide explains UK legal and environmental best practice, but land access and permissions are always the responsibility of the user. You should always check local access rights, land ownership, and regulations before panning.

5. Do I need special equipment to use this?

No. The maps work with Google My Maps and Google Earth, both of which are free. The guide also explains what basic panning equipment you actually need — and what you don’t.

6. Are the maps polygons or coordinates?

No. The maps are built using polygons, each representing a specific river or stream section. Every polygon includes a full written description to help you understand the ground rather than relying on a single point.

7. Is this for commercial mining?

No. This product is for recreational gold panning only. It does not encourage dredging, powered equipment, or commercial-scale activity.

8. Is this a physical product?

No. This is a digital download. You’ll receive instant access to the maps, guide, and checklists after purchase.
